General Manager
Eric D. Wright has over 25 years experience as an executive producer, arts programmer, and manager. He moved to New York City in 2000 from New Orleans, where he was a host on WWOZ-FM and worked with artists including Terence Blanchard and Charlie Haden. In 2000, Wright joined Jazz at Lincoln Center and has produced concerts and residencies for JALC worldwide, collaborating with the US Department of State and the White House; with organizations in the Middle East and Cuba; with symphony orchestras, dance companies, and international headlining artists such as Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, Taj Mahal, and others; and with major US media outlets. He cofounded the music education and cultural exchange nonprofit Horns to Havana following JALC’s unprecedented 2010 residency in Cuba, and currently serves on its board. He is part of the founding team for the Rochester International Jazz Festival in its 21st year. Before coming to AILEY, Wright was the director of concerts and touring operations at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Since 2019, he has worked as the general manager for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II.
